Bicone Beaded Bracelet

Beaded Bracelet  ©Dianna Stevens 2000

Manuella thread size 20
diamond cut beads (bicone) 3.5mm or 4mm (two colors - opt.)
Miyuki seed beads size 15 (two colors, dark and light)
2 shuttles
bracelet clasp
5 round 6mm beads
picot gauge
0.5mm crochet hook for joining

Place 35 dark seed beads, 35 light seed beads, 35 dark seed beads on each of two wound shuttles.

1. R. 7 + (join to one end of the bracelet clasp) 1 + (join again to the
clasp) 7, cl.

2. SR. 6 – 3 / 6 – 3, cl.

3. SR. 3 + 3 – 3 / 3 + 3 – 3, cl. Slide bicone bead over picot and join.

Repeat this line for 4 rings for a medium sized bracelet.  5 rings for a large sized bracelet, etc.
Adjust the number of repeated rings either here and/or on the opposite side.

4. SR. 3 + 5 – 3 / 3 + 5 – 3, cl.

5. SR. 3 + 6 – 3 / 3 + 6 – 3, cl.

Begin adding the center beads to split rings. Cut a yard of size 20 thread, same color OR use a beading
thread sizes A or B in matching color. Bring this thread between the two shuttles.

6. SR. 3 + 4 – (35 dark seed beads) 7 / 3 + 4 – (35 dark seed beads) 7, cl.

Bring both center bead threads up through ring and slide on 6mm bead. Draw one thread each side of
ring and make an over hand knot tying around the ring. Lay these threads aside to do next ring. For next
ring bring up thread through the ring and slide on the next center bead. Again draw thread to each side of
ring and tie catching the ring. Continue in like manner securing the center bead to the center of each split ring.

7. SR. 7 – (35 light seed beads) 7 / 7 – (35 light seed beads) 7, cl. Again bring up both threads,
drawing one up through the ring, slide on another 6mm bead. Draw one thread to back side of ring
and make an overhand knot. This process will be continued for the remaining 3 rings.

8. SR. 6 + 1 – (35 dark seed beads) 6 / 6 + 1 – (35 dark seed beads) 6, cl. Add 6mm bead to
the center of this ring as previously discussed.

9.  SR. 7 + (35 light seed beads) 7 / 7 + (35 light seed beads) 7, cl. Be sure to join the light beaded picot
so it lays on top of the previous picot as shown below.

10. SR. 7 + (35 dark seed beads) 4  –  3 / 7 + (35 dark seed beads) 4  –  3, cl. Add center 6mm bead.
Tie for the last ring.  You will encapsulate this thread in the next ring and a half to secure.
Cut away residual thread.

Repeat rows 1-5 in reverse order, making adjustments for the desired length.  Encapsulate the thread from
the second shuttle in the last ring.  The last ring is not a split ring.  Remember to add the clasp as shown.
Use the magic thread trick to hide ends, or sew ends in.
