Crochet hook for adding the beads over the picots

Center bottom:

1. R. 8 – 6 – 8, cl. Ch. 14 – 14. RW
Make picot long enough to go through the center of the bead.

2. R. 8 + 6 – 8, cl. Ch. 14 – 14.

3. R. 8 + 6 – 8, cl. Ch. 14 – 14.

4. R. 8 + 6 – 8, cl. Ch. 14 – 14.

5. R. 8 + 6 – 8, cl. Ch. 14 – 14.

6. R. 8 + 6 + 8, cl. Join to first ring.
Ch. 14 – 14. RW Cut and tie, or hide ends as usual.


Body:

1. R. 6 – 6 – 6 – 6, cl. R. 6 + 6 – 6 – 6 , cl. R. 6 + 6 – 6 – 6, cl. RW

2. Ch. 14 + (pull picot through the bead center and join as usual) 14.
RW Joining to the chain of the center piece.

3. R. 6 – 6 + (pull picot through the bead center and join) 6 – 6, cl. R. 6 + 6 – 6 – 6 , cl.
R. 6 + 6 – 6 – 6, cl. RW

4. Ch. 14 + 14. RW

Repeat this body in its mirror image twice more. See image.
On the last round, the chain is as follows: 2 – 2 for 13 picots. End.

To make the cord: Thread two strands of thread 14 inches in length, knot the end of the length. Needle tat the first half of the ds only– repeatedly. This will cause the stitch to naturally twist. Continue with the first half of the stitch until the 14 inch cord is covered. Knot the end and thread through the rings of the last row of body.

You can line the bag if desired.
